Cayman Islands Villa Rentals By CARIBIQUE®

A lot of tourists gathering at Stingray City, Cayman Islands, Caribbean.

A short direct flight from the United States, English speaking, the US dollar is widely accepted, and all the comforts of a small city make the island easy for retirees or families who don’t want to stray far from modern healthcare or the amenities found in any small mainland North American town.

The beautiful Cayman Islands comprise three small islands just to the South of Cuba. Grand Cayman, the largest and most developed of the islands, is a popular offshore banking jurisdiction with a large expatriate population who work mostly in the areas of offshore finance and insurance. The island is well developed and, although it is certainly easy to tap into a laid back island vibe and to find yourself a spot on one of many deserted beaches, Grand Cayman is a simple destination to visit. Little Cayman and Cayman Brac provide more off-the-beaten-track Caribbean charm.

All the islands are favoured destinations for SCUBA divers and other watersports are gaining in popularity including kitesurfing and surfing. Colonised from Jamaica by Brits in the 18th and 19th century, The Cayman Islands were administered by Jamaica until 1959 when the islands briefly were part of the Federation of the West Indies. When the Federation was disbanded in 1962, the Cayman Islands chose to remain a British dependency.
